Tonight's program guide for Tuesday, 23 May.
We will have a bunch of excellent shows covering health and health related issues that are very informative, emphasizing on mental health. You might want to take notes so get ready!
Hour 1) a talk by Dr. Gabor Mate on “How to reset your body from chronic stress”. Dr. Gabor Mate, physician, human development expert, and an author; his most recent book is The Myth of Normal. According to Dr. Maté, stress and trauma can create a state of chronic inflammation in the body, which can weaken the immune system and make us more vulnerable to illness. This can be especially true for individuals who have experienced early childhood trauma or ongoing stressors such as poverty, discrimination, or violence.

Hour 2) A discussion on MENTAL HEALTH with guest Dr. Vivek Murthy, US Surgeon General, and Jim Steyer, founder and CEO of Common Sense Media on the topic of "Healthy Young Minds: media, mental health, and connection". This event was held at USC on May 19 and was moderated by USC Annenberg seniors Meredith McCabe and Shreya Ranganathan. Last Week, we heard Dr. Vivek Murthy's talk on the topic of Loneliness. (Just a reminder, mental health is absolutely different from/than the gun and gun violence culture.)
